Topic: IP Conflict with Chillispot.

hi,

I have installed Chillispot in a hotel to control internet access. Almost everything is working perfect, and I'm very impressed with the performance of it.
But I have two problems with Chillispot (that are both about the same):

- I have 8 computers and a printer, that are for the use of the guests. At least the IP of the printer needs to be fixed, and the problem is that if I fix the printer IP, sometimes ChilliSpot gives the same IP for DHCP for another computer, and it produces an IP conflict.

- Sometimes, a guest that wants to pass trough to internet but without our control, may configure a static IP to his/her laptop. It wouldn't work, of course, but it can create an IP conflict, the same way I explained with the printer.

So, I have two questions:

1- Is there a configuration tip that prevents an IP of the network to be gived as an DHCP address?.

2- Where can I see the current DHCP assignations? so I can reset any of them.

Thank you,

Paco.

Re: IP Conflict with Chillispot.

Printer can not stay in the chillispot network range cause it will conflict with your client.
And you can not fix your guest computer to get chillispot  cause the client must get direct dhcp from chillispot

You make fix printer ip to the last ip such as .182.255 or .182.254 but not garandtee to the  conflict problem

you should give printer ip to other network like

modem [192.168.1.1]-[printer 192.168.1.55]-[chilli 192.168.1.2]-->192.168.182.x

if you would setup like this
